Andrea Bocelli: Marostica 2021

In the spectacular outdoor venue of the Palazzo Castello in the lovely town of Marostica, Andrea Bocelli will perform a concert in two parts -the first half dedicated to opera, the second to the music of his widespread “crossover” repertoire and promises to be a spectacular concert in a magical setting. Add to this an itinerary taking in some of the highlights of the Veneto region and it is a tour not to miss.

13th September 2021 itinerary 

Day 1: 
Fly from London Gatwick to Venice and transfer by coach to the Abano Ritz Hotel in the spa town of Abano Terme to check in for your six night stay on a bed and breakfast basis. Welcome drink at the hotel.

Day 2: 
Full day tour to the gorgeous Renaissance city of Ferrara, with a host of beautiful buildings including the Cathedral and breathtaking Palazzo dei Diamanti amongst many others. A guided walking tour
will show you some of the highlights.

Day 3: 
Morning guided walking tour of Palladio’s Vicenza, an architectural wonder. Afternoon free before transferring to Marostica for the evening concert with time allowed for dinner before the event. Late
evening transfer back to the hotel after the concert (which commences at 9pm).

Day 4: 
Full day free in Abano to relax and enjoy the spa facilities of your hotel.

Day 5: 
Transfer to Padova station to take the train to the heart of Venice where you are free to explore all day, before returning to Padova by train and onwards to Abano by coach. A guided walking tour will
show you more. If you want to stay longer you can take the train from Padova to Abano very easily.

Day 6: 
Full day tour to Verona, one of Italy’s most historic cities. There is masses to see here including its spectacular Roman arena, Juliet’s balcony, countless gorgeous churches, particularly the Duomo and San Zeno Maggiore, and lovely squares, including Piazzas Erbe and Dei Signori, perfect for a leisurely lunch. A guided walking tour will show you some of the highlights.

Day 7: 
Transfer to Padova for a visit, including a guided walking tour before transferring to the airport for the return flight to London Gatwick. Please note: There is a significant walk to the concert venue from the drop off point, so this tour may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.

 

14th September 2021 itinerary

Day 2: Morning Vicenza with evening concert at Marostica
This morning we visit Vicenza, the city of master 16th century architect Andrea Palladio, whose influence has extended and remains worldwide. A guided tour will show you many of his buildings including the Teatro Olimpico.
Afternoon free before transferring to Marostica for the evening concert with time allowed for dinner before the event. Late evening transfer back to the hotel after the concert (which commences at 9pm).

Day 3: Full day free in Abano to relax and enjoy the spa facilities of your hotel.

Day 4: Ferrara
Full day tour to the gorgeous Renaissance city of Ferrara, with a host of beautiful buildings including the Cathedral and breathtaking Palazzo dei Diamanti amongst many others. A guided walking tour will show you some of the highlights of this massively under-appreciated architectural gem.

Day 5: Venice
Transfer to Padova station to take the train to the heart of Venice where you are free to explore all day, before returning to Padova by train and onwards to Abano by coach. A guided walking tour will show you more of this unique city’s myriad of sights – from St Marks and the Rialto Bridge, the Palazzo Ducale and a host more. Venice has been a magnet for English tourists since the days of the Grand Tour and has changed little over centuries, exuding an irresisitible charm.. If you want to stay longer you can take the train from Padova to Abano very easily.

Day 6: Verona
Full day tour to Verona, one of Italy’s most historic cities. There is masses to see here including its spectacular Roman arena, Juliet’s balcony,. countless gorgeous churches, particularly the Duomo and San Zeno Maggiore, and lovely squares, including Piazzas Erbe and Dei Signori, perfect for a leisurely lunch. A guided walking tour will show you some of the highlights.

Day 7: Transfer to Padova for a visit, including a guided walking tour. Another under-appreciated gem, Padova is an ancient university city with the famous Scrovegni Chapel (not included) said to be the foundation for Renaissance art, lovely piazzas, a wealth of churches and much more. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to London Gatwick.

CONCERT INFORMATION  In the unlikely event of the total cancellation of the performance due to weather,  ill-health, or any other reason or change of cast, the ticket price will only be refunded if the entire performance is cancelled. Only the ticket price will be refunded under such circumstances and no reimbursement made for travel expenses such as flights, hotels, meals etc.

All tours are subject to amendement according to local conditions and tour manager’s discretion.
