An escorted group tour with two departure dates and hotel options seeing the main highlights of Tuscany with excursions and sightseeing included.
This year sees the fifteenth edition of the Bocelli-hosted event in his hometown of Lajatico. The exclusive annual event promises to be an exceptional show in 2021 entitled ‘The Mystery of Beauty’. Once again, Andrea Bocelli will perform alongside an extraordinary cast of international artists who will join him on stage singing some of the best loved songs and popular classics mixed with magnificent choreography and stage designs which hope to reinvent the experience of opera music. The stunning backdrop of the Tuscan hills and the concert under the summer sky of Lajatico combined with a stay in Florence with visits to some of Tuscany’s most lauded sights makes this a tour not to miss.
This lovely tour, based in the heart of southern Tuscany, includes a ticket to this wonderful open-air event together with a six-day tour of Tuscany including Siena, San Gimignano and Lucca.
Please note there is a significant walk (approximately 1.5-2km) to the concert auditorium so this tour is not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
20 July 2021 Itinerary
Day 1: Fly from London Heathrow to Bologna. On arrival transfer to Florence for check-in to the Grand Hotel Mediterraneo for five-night stay. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. This evening there will be a welcome drink at the hotel.
Day 2: Full day in Florence
Morning guided tour of Florence with afternoon free for personal exploration. The Renaissance city of Florence has a wealth of sights that could take weeks to explore. Highlights include the Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia, a host of churches, lavish palaces and atmospheric, ancient streets.
Day 3: Morning visit to Fiesole and early evening transfer to Lajatico for performance at the Teatro del Silenzio
Morning visit to the lovely village of Fiesole up in the hills to the north of Florence. Fiesole offers wonderful views of the city below as well as delightful churches and buildings, with plenty of places for a leisurely coffee stop. Return to the hotel mid-afternoon for time to freshen up before heading to Lajatico and the performance with Andrea Bocelli at the Teatro del Silenzio. Late return to the hotel after the concert. Please note there is a 1.5-2km walk from the car park to the arena.
Day 4: Full day tour to Lucca
A later start is planned this morning for our visit to the gorgeous walled city of Lucca, which is a delight to explore. Highlights amongst its narrow cobbled streets and alleys include Puccini’s House, San Martino and San Michele in Foro churches and city walls that offer lovely vistas of the city.
Day 5: Full day Siena and San Gimignano
A classic day’s excursion from Florence takes us to the beautiful city of Siena, once a rival to Florence and a magnificent city in its own right, renowned for its stunning semi-circular main Piazza del Campo, 12th century striped marble Duomo, one of Italy’s greatest cathedrals (and there are no shortage of then in the home of Catholicism!), world class museums and delightful cobbled streets. San Gimignano is often referred to as the medieval Manhattan thanks to its lofty towers that dominate its skyline built as status symbols centuries ago, and offers a host of lovely churches, palazzo as well as its renowned towers.
Day 6: Morning visit to Bologna and return flight to the UK
This morning we visit Bologna with free time for personal exploration. Bologna’s historic city centre is considered one of the best preserved and maintained in Italy and highlights include the Piazza Maggiore, Fountain of Neptune, Basilica di San Petronio and the Pinacoteca Nazionale. Late afternoon transfer to Bologna Aiport for the return flight to London Heathrow.
NB: All tours are subject to amendment according to local conditions and tour manager’s discretion.
Please note the concert is due to take place on Thursday 22nd. July 2021. In the unlikely event of the total cancellation of the performance due to weather, ill-heath or any other reason, the concert will be postponed and take place on another date decided by the organisers. No refund of the ticket will be given.

What a way to spend our 25th wedding anniversary in the wonderful city of Florence, driving through the amazing Tucany counrtyside, the tours of Sienna, Florence and San Gimingnano and to top it an Andrea Bocelli concert.
