Due to popular demand, Andrea Bocelli will now be performing twice in his hometown of Lajatico in Tuscany, Italy. The annual event which features the world-famous singer perform in the stunning outdoors location is phenomenally popular with fans worldwide and it is easy to see why a second performance on 30th July 2018 has been arranged. This is in addition to the original date of 28th July 2018 which Andrea Bocelli confirmed last year.
This edition will be dedicated to the representation of the opera “Andrea Chenier” by Umberto Giordano. Andrea Bocelli will return to his greatest passion, performing an opera to which he is most emotionally attached. This is the first opera he heard and learned, it is also the first aria he sang and recorded at the age of eight!
“Andrea Chenier” is the opera of love and is the opera of the “tenor”. The protagonist is almost always on stage and interprets famous, moving and particularly loved pages to the audience. The storyboard is inspired by the true-life story of French poet Andre Chenier (1762 – 1794) and is adventurous and bloodthirsty. It overflows with music of emotions, powerful effects and the characters come out on stage with unprecedented impetuosity. Everything is fast, the events follow each other and leave you breathless. It is an opera that captures from the earliest notes, is easy to follow and talks directly to the heart.
