Client Q&A: Majorca Holiday…
28.09.21 | OliverWe were recently chatting with one of our regular clients after returning from their holiday to Majorca. It was great to hear such positive comments about the overall experience and they were surprised more people were not going on holiday right now. So much so, Mr Wright offered to jot down some of his thoughts. So, we sent over a few questions in the hope the answers can put your mind at rest about taking an overseas trip.
What were you most concerned about before going on holiday?
My main concern was regarding the procedure requirements for travel to Mallorca. Realising there is no room for error the need to fully understand was vital. My second concern was the possibility of catching the virus whilst away and testing positive in the days prior to returning home. I had few concerns about Mallorca because I knew many tourists were on the Island from other countries.
What put your mind at ease about these concerns?
RB Collection gave me all the information in a well prepared detailed check list and offered assistance to obtain the necessary documents. That assistance was important especially as some internet procedures are not easy. The availability of help from a professional travel agent removed the concern regarding the procedures.
How did you feel during your journey (what measures were in place to put your mind at ease etc)?
Regarding the risk of catching the virus whilst away, there clearly was an element of risk but we took the view that we would take the usual precautions such as masks, distancing etc. The hotel take the risks seriously and this gave us confidence.
The journey was well organised by Jet 2 with masks, spacing and assistance when needed. On the plane there was no standing and on landing only stand when told to, row by row. The pilot made the position clear and the instructions were obeyed by all. Precautions at Palma were also good.
Once at the hotel / in resort how did it feel?
The hotel was approx. 60% full and a shortage of staff was an ongoing problem, but the service remained good and great effort was made to operate as best they could with the limitations, spacing etc.
Local restaurants were very busy, as were the beaches and Palma. There was little difference when compared to the norm.
What was the overall holiday experience like and did it live up to your expectations?
We have been in Mallorca many times and the few limitations did not in any way spoil our holiday. This was a joy for the children after a difficult time at home and University, and a great successful trip for us!
What would you say to anyone hesitating to go on holiday right now ?
If you want to go abroad: Take advice to understand the requirements for your particular Country because they differ. Be careful with online advice, go to an experienced travel agent to get the advice. Make sure you understand your insurance policy and its limitations and alter if necessary. Take all sensible health precautions before and when abroad.
Thanks again to Mr Wright for taking the time to answer our questions.
