Meet the team: Clare Buckley9.05.16 | Clare Buckley
Last month we welcomed Clare as the latest addition to the RB team. Here we get to know a little more about Clare’s experience and have an insight into her passion for travel…
How long have you worked in travel?
I have worked in travel for 11 years in various roles.
What was the most memorable holiday experience and why?
It has to be Barbados. I loved the atmosphere of the whole island. It is also a great island to explore with car hire, mixing with the friendly Bajans in the bars, sampling the local cuisine and rum. The locals made me feel very welcome!
Where is your dream destination and why?
The Maldives. I have a 4 year old daughter who keeps me on my feet so the thought of travelling to the Maldives is my idea of pure paradise.
What excites you about working in travel?
I love learning about new places and hearing people’s feedback from their travels to pass onto other clients.
Why did you chose to work at RB Collection / what makes it different to other travel companies?
RB has a great reputation and client base. It is a company very well known for its customer service which makes me proud to be part of the team.
What are you most proud of with the service you offer at RB Collection?
Offering honest advice and using the whole team’s experiences of destinations to pass onto my clients.
What has been the most interesting trip you have organised at RB so far and why?
A lady came in to see me who’s late husband’s invention had been nominated for an award in Munich. It was fascinating hearing her story and piecing together the itinerary by rail through Europe. It was an opportunity for me to take care of all the finer details and it was something I would never have arranged in my previous positions.
Where are you flying to next?
I’m hoping to visit the Canary Islands for some decent winter sunshine.
What is your top tip for a summer getaway?
This year it’s more important than ever before to book as early in advance as possible to avoid disappointment with availability. Especially for more popular familiar destinations such as Spain and Italy.
And finally…what’s your dream weekend plan?
Visiting a spa and having a relaxing weekend break.
