New La Dolce Vita Orient-Express Booking Now!

20.08.24 | Oliver
Earlier this month we were one of the first travel companies in the UK to meet with colleagues from the hotly anticipated new La Dolce Vita Orient-Express luxury train. Chloe and Eugenio flew in to see us from Rome where the new train will be based and will start testing from this September.
This new retro, 1950’s style train will be a major rival to the existing Venice-Simplon Orient-Express. As well as a range new itineraries across Italy, departing only from Rome, one of the main differences between the trains is the private bathrooms in every cabin, included excursion programme and drinks at all times, not just meals.
On a like-for-like basis, it does represent better value for money when you detail these additional inclusions, plus it will carry a lower number of guests at 62 compared to 108 on the VSOE offering a more personal service.

During the meeting we discussed the new cabins and suites onboard and the various itineraries which vary from 1 – 2 nights and can also be booked as back to back. We can also add in more land arrangements around Italy as part of the package.

One itinerary that stood out for us was Venice & Portofino, two iconic destinations perfectly combined by train. In Venice, you also have the opportunity to travel down to Sicily where the train boards a specially adapted ferry to travel over to the island. You can then spend a week in Sicily before flying back, or use the following weeks return train journey back up to Rome.

There are a variety of itineraries to choose from which vary in cost depending on their location due to their unique experiences. The first departures commence from April 2025, and are expected to sell out well in advance.

Prices start from £4,629 per person for a three-night holiday including one night on board La Dolce Vita Orient Express, flights to/from Rome, private transfers, and two nights’ accommodation with breakfast staying at the 4* L’Orologio Roma, where Kayleigh stayed earlier this year.

Needless to say, we were very impressed by what is to come from the new Orient-Express offering and have no doubt they will do a great job with their forthcoming new train and hotels.
