Al-Andalus Rail Tour

The “Al Andalus” is a luxurious train with carefully-restored historic carriages. This remarkable heritage train will be your home as you travel through Andalusia, with visits to Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Ronda and Cadiz.

Day 1, Sunday: London & Seville
You will fly from London to Seville and overnight in the 4 Star Hotel Dona Maria.

Day 2, Monday: Seville & Jerez
You will board the Al Andalus (late afternoon). Enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner on board as you head to Jerez where you will spend the night.

Day 3, Tuesday: Jerez
Just as every day, you will begin today with a delicious buffet and a la carte breakfast. Then you can visit a wine cellar in Jerez. Before lunch enjoy the show “How the Andalusian horses dance”, famous equestrian ballet with Spanish music. You will then take lunch in Sanlúcar de Barrameda overlooking the salt marshes of Doñana National Park and river Guadalquivir’s mouth. You can then walk around Sanlúcar de Barrameda. The luxury coach will take you back to Jerez de la Frontera, one of the most iconic cities of Andalusia. You will return to the train and have dinner onboard. Overnight in Jerez.

Day 4, Wednesday: Jerez, Cádiz & Ronda
A bus will take you to Cadiz, popularly known as “Small silver cup” and considered one of the oldest cities in Europe. You will have free time to venture on your own into the charm of Cádiz. You will then have lunch and journey on the “Tren Al Andalus” heading to the stunning city of Ronda, where you will have dinner and stay the night.

Day 5, Thursday: Ronda & Granada
After breakfast, you will tour Ronda and its breathtaking location, set on a plateau cut by the deep gorge Tajo de Ronda, through which river Guadalevín runs. You will then have some free time before lunch; then return to the train which will head towards Granada, a city nestled on the foothills of Sierra Nevada. Dinner and overnight in Granada.

Day 6, Friday: Granada
You will spend the morning touring the spectacular Alhambra, the most visited monument in Spain, a rich palace complex that housed the Nasrid rulers from the Kingdom of Granada. After lunch you will have free time to visit this beautiful city at your own pace. As the night falls, the whole town is wrapped in a magic spell that you will enjoy over dinner. Night in Granada.

Day 7, Saturday: Granada, Linares/Baeza & Córdoba
There will a morning journey on the Al Andalus to station of Linares-Baeza, from where a coach will take you to visit the Renaissance towns of Úbeda and Baeza, both listed as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. After lunch, you will return to the train to begin the journey to Córdoba. Dinner and overnight in Córdoba.

Day 8, Sunday: Córdoba & Seville
After enjoying your last breakfast onboard, you will visit the former capital of the emirate and the medieval caliphate of Al Andalus, Cordoba. It was once the largest, most educated and opulent city in Western Europe. You will return to the train and enjoy your last lunch while “Tren Al Andalus” takes you to your final destination, Seville. You will overnight in the Hotel Dona Maria.

Day 9, Monday: Seville & London
You will check out of your hotel, transfer to the airport and catch your return flight to London

Extra Information
The first day on board the Al Andalus, the access to your suite is not guaranteed until 18:00, although other services will be available on board the train. On the last day of the Al Andalus, the suite must be left before 12:00, although all other services continue.
