Day one – UK to Nairobi
One night
Day two – Naboisho Camp, Naboisho Conservancy
Four nights – full board
Early morning arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. After clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and transferred across to the smaller Wilson Airport to check in for the scheduled mid-morning light aircraft flight to the famous rolling plains of the Maasai Mara. Arrive at the bush airstrip servicing Naboisho where you will be met and transferred to the comfortable Naboisho Camp arriving in time for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to relax, settle in and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Four nights are spent at Naboisho Camp in a double/twin tent.
Game-viewing activities are undertaken daily.
Situated in the 50,000 acre Naboisho Conservancy, Naboisho Camp offers accommodation for up to 22 guests in nine spacious guest tents. Each tent is raised on a stone plinth, with a shaded veranda with chairs and a day bed. Inside, a large sleeping area with forward-facing twin/double beds and a writing desk has a spacious en suite bathroom/dressing area furnished with a wardrobe, twin sinks with cold running water, flush toilet and indoor shower. A further double shower is located outside at the rear of the tent with hot water for all of the showers being provided on request. Two of the tents are ideal for families with a separate sleeping area with twin beds.
Activities at Naboisho are tailored to guests’ wishes with daily 4×4 game drives being complemented by night drives. Daily walks are also available. Overnight fly-camping walks are included if you do not mind vacating your tent (should you wish to keep it, an additional charge is made). Authentic visits to local villages and game-viewing in the reserve can be arranged at additional cost, paid locally in camp.
Day six – Sanctuary Kusini, southern Serengeti
Four nights – full board
Early morning at leisure before you are transferred to the airstrip to connect with the scheduled light aircraft flight to Migori. Here, you will exit Kenya, transfer by road to Tarime and complete entry formalities into Tanzania. You will then connect with the scheduled light aircraft flight to the southern Serengeti and spend four nights at Sanctuary Kusini camp in a double/twin tent.
Game-viewing drives are undertaken daily.
Sanctuary Camp is located in the southwestern Serengeti, tucked away in acacia woodland around a rocky outcrop close to the vast open short grass plains which attract the wildebeest migration from December to April each year. The exclusive camp offers accommodation for around 24 guests in comfortably furnished tents built on wooden platforms under a canvas shade awning. Each tent includes a spacious private deck to the front, and en suite plumbed toilet and shower facilities to the back. The lodge is built among a granite outcrop, some of the boulders affording excellent views over the surrounding bush. Game-viewing drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles take place in the bush surrounding the camp, or on the short grass plains which are a short distance away.
Day 10 – Baraza Resort, Zanzibar, southeast coast
Five nights – full board
Early morning at leisure before you are transferred to the airstrip to connect with the shared light aircraft flight to Zanzibar (this flight services several airstrips). Afternoon arrival into Zanzibar where you are met and transferred eastwards across the island to arrive at Baraza Resort for five nights in a garden-view villa.
The Baraza Resort and Spa is a top0quality beach resort located on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, next to its sister hotels, the Breezes Beach Club and The Palms Resort. There are 14 one-bedroom villas (ocean-front or ocean-view), 15 two-bedroom villas (Sultan sea-facing or garden-facing – the second room is suitable for younger children, not adult children, but it does have a shower en suite) and one presidential villa. Each villa is spacious and luxuriously furnished, with a lounge area, a bedroom, bathroom and outdoor patio with a plunge pool.
The central areas consist of two restaurants, a lounge bar, library, business centre and meeting room, a boutique and the large swimming pool. Other facilities include tennis courts, a fitness centre, the Frangipani health spa and a watersports centre offering scuba diving (PADI), kite surfing, windsurfing, sailing and snorkelling to the nearby lagoon.
Day 15 – Fly back to UK
One night
Early morning at leisure. Later, transfer to Zanzibar Airport to begin your journey back to the UK.
