Travel in the comfort of the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer, an award-winning train that brings you an ever-changing and astounding panorama of snow-capped mountains, river canyons, glaciers, meadows and forests. You will then board the luxurious Regatta ship for a 7 day cruise along the incredible North American west coast.

Rail and Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 
After you arrive in Calgary, a Rocky Mountaineer representative will meet and accompany you to your vehicle for the transfer to the Delta Calgary Downtown Hotel (or similar). The remainder of the day is yours at leisure to explore the sites of downtown Calgary or its surroundings. Meals are on your own today

Day 2
Following breakfast at your hotel you will be met and transferred by motorcoach to Banff. The drive time from Calgary to Banff is approximately 1½ hours depending on traffic. En route you will enjoy a half day tour of Banff with your driver- guide. Highlights include Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos as well as a ride up the Banff Gondola (enclosed 4 passenger gondolas). Here you will travel to the top of Sulphur Mountain and experience a stunning bird’s-eye view of six incredible mountain ranges.

You will have some free time at the top to enjoy the view, take photos or perhaps grab a quick bite to eat.

You will then return to Banff where you will check in to the beautiful Rimrock Resort Hotel (or similar) in Banff, Alberta. You’ll be staying in a Premium Room with stunning views across the valley. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

Day 3 
Following an early morning shared motor coach transfer to Banff Station, you will board the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer train. Breakfast will be served onboard shortly after departure.

The Rocky Mountaineer will head west through the majestic Canadian Rockies to your overnight destination of Kamloops. Highlights include passing by Craigellachie – where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven in 1885, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels – a true engineering feat, and the glaciers and snow capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies.

On arrival at the Kamloops station, you will be transferred by shared motor coach to your overnight accommodation. Dinner is on your own.

Day 4 
You will re-board the Rocky Mountaineer, enjoy breakfast on board and continue west along the banks of the Fraser River as it winds to the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the BC Interior, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains and into the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River.

At Vancouver’s Rocky Mountaineer Station, you will board a shared motor coach and transfer to the Sutton Place Hotel (or similar). Dinner is on your own.

Day 5
Following breakfast at the hotel, you will enjoy a tour across Lions Gate Bridge and into North Vancouver with a driver-guide. Also included is a visit to the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park where you can walk across the famed Bridge which stretches 450 feet (137m) across and 230 feet (70m) above the Capilano River. Your time at the park is self-guided.

Return to Vancouver and transfer to the port to embark your ship, the Regatta.

Day 7- (Ketchikan, Alaska)
Totem poles are one of Ketchikan’s chief attractions, and the best places to view them are Saxman Village and Totem Bight State Park. Drop by the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center to learn about the local cultures and ecosystems.

Day 9 (Sitka, Alaska)
Called “Shee Atika” by the Tlingit Indians, then “New Archangel” by the Russians who ousted them, Sitka boasts a multicultural heritage. Two dozen of its attractions are on the National Register of Historic Places, including Castle Hill and Building 29, a structure built by the Russians in 1835. The Sheldon Jackson Museum exhibits one of Alaska’s oldest native culture collections.

Day 10 (Prince Rupert, Canada)
British Columbia’s most northern coastal city, Prince Rupert sits on the very edge of the wilderness. The majority of its attractions revolve around the outdoors, such as sport fishing or a walking tour of the bonsai-like forest at Oliver Lake. Wildlife abounds, including bears, mountain goats and a variety of migrating whales.

Day 11

Day 12 (Seattle, USA)
Head to the top of the famed Space Needle, enjoy the performers in Pioneer Square, watch fish-tossing in legendary Pike Place Market or spend the afternoon in the impressive Seattle Art Museum. Take in the groovy Experience Music Project or the fascinating Pacific Science Center. Dive into the sea at the Seattle Aquarium or take to the skies at the Museum of Flight.
