Uganda Gorilla and Wildlife Group Tour

You will embark on an incredible journey into central Africa –  highlights include searching for the awe inspiring Mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, multiple game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park with its diverse wildlife, including the famed ‘tree climbing’ lions of Ishasha.

Uganda delivers some of the best birdwatching opportunities in Africa, with over 1,000 different species on the species list, including the rare and extraordinary, monotypic Shoebill and the beautiful Ross’ turacou. Itinerary 

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda 
Take the daytime flight from London Heathrow (or select other UK airports) via Amsterdam to Entebbe. On arrival in Entebbe this evening, you will be met and transferred to the Boma Hotel for an overnight stay, breakfast included.

Day 2: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Transfer to Entebbe airport for your morning light aircraft flight To Kihihi airstrip. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road about an hour to Bwindi First National Park, for a 3 night stay at Buhoma Lodge, all meals included. The afternoon you will have the opportunity for a forest walk or village walk.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early morning rise and briefing for the departure of your Gorilla trek which can take 2-8 hours depending on the troop you select to visit and the duration it takes to find them. Much deserved quiet time this afternoon or enjoy walks around the forest.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
You have the option today for a second gorilla tracking experience, or you might prefer a guided nature walk in the national park. (It is an exceptionally rewarding place for birding and small forest wildlife).

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park about a 2-3 hour drive, with a community visit en route, arriving late afternoon at Ishasha Tented Camp for a 2 night stay, all meals included.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning and afternoon game drives in the Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha sector.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Morning game drive as you transfer to the Mweya Peninsula and an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. Day ends at Mweya Safari Lodge or similar for a 1 night stay with all meals included.

Day 8:Queen Elizabeth National Park – Entebbe (flight) and departure
Early morning chimp tracking at Kyamburu Gorge. This steep, forested gorge is on the north-east boundary of the park and its dense vegetation harbours Chimpanzees and other forest wildlife. Do note that the chimps move seasonally depending on the supply of ripe wild figs. (If this excursion is not done, you can go on a game drive instead). Return light aircraft transfer in the afternoon to Entebbe where you will be met on arrival and assisted with checking in for the late night KL flight to Amsterdam.

Day 9: Departure
On arrival in Amsterdam Schipol airport, remain air side and connect with the KL flight to London Heathrow or selected other UK airports.
