What’s new for Florida in 2016?

2016 looks like its going to be an exciting year for the theme parks in Orlando, Florida. First up, Universal will be opening Volcano Bay, their very own water park. Tipped to be a totally new take on the water park model, Universal commentS: “The park will feel as if it is set in picture-perfect tropical islands, formed by a massive volcano – and it will have something for every member of the family. It will feature radically-innovative attractions, peaceful moments of relaxation and an experience that we hope will change the way guests think about water theme parks.”

Also at Universal will be their fourth on-site hotel: The Loews Sapphire Falls. Opening in July 2016, bookings are already open and will feature a 16,000 square-foot pool and a Caribbean theme.

Over at Walt Disney World plans are afoot for a number of new developments in 2016 including a new attraction in Epcot based on the popular Frozen animated film, called Frozen Ever After. Also in Epcot, Soarin’ gets a refreshed film and Soarin’ Around the World will take you on an immersive ride across different countries. Downtown Disney has been undergoing major refurbishments over the past few years and will emerge as Disney Springs next year too, with new eateries and entertainment for all the family.

For family thrill-seekers, head over to Busch Gardens in 2016 for the opening of Cobra’s Curse. Described as a “one-of-a-kind family spin-coaster,” riders will be taken on a whirlwind of family fun and an adventure of exciting explorations. After ascending on a vertical lift, just like an elevator, riders will come face-to-face with an 80-foot snake icon and trek over the park’s Serengeti Plain.

One of the newer parks near Orlando is Legoland Florida, built at Cypress Gardens. This year they opened their own hotel with uniquely designed accommodation and a great pool area.

It is safe to say that there are plenty of new developments in the pipeline for 2016 for family holidays to Orland, Florida, and we are here to help create the perfect trip for you.
