Arctic Bath, Sweden

Situated under the northern lights in winter, and the midnight sun during the summer months, Arctic Bath is a unique hotel and spa experience that welcomes guests to immerse themselves in the elements while leaving a minimal environmental footprint behind.

The Arctic Bath is a new and exciting concept on the shores of the Lule river, in the heart of Swedish Lapland. It is a hotel like no other; focused on the health and well-being of their guests with the aim to offer a sanctuary from the pressures of daily-life and to aid mindfullness and the rebalancing between body and spirit.

Floating on the Lule river, the Arctic Bath combines sustainable materials and build credentials with innovative technology and design. Its architecture is inspired by the era of log-driving on the river. The exterior looks like a pile of sticks but the rugged exterior hides direct access to the Lule river for wild swimming (in winter the temperature is c. 4° ), three saunas, a hot tub, treatment rooms and a restaurant.

On the riverbank are six large, well-equipped and luxurious cabins (sleeping up to five people). With floor to ceiling windows, accommodation split over two floors, and uninterrupted river views, the environment calls for you to relax, slow-down and unwind. A further six cabins (sleeping two people) are floating on the river itself, connected to the land by a 12m pontoon walkway.

Local, pure and sustainable produce set the tone for the evening in the Scandinavian designed restaurant. Meet up for dinner, have a drink in the bar area or relax in the lounge. The chefs prepare a set menu based on local ingredients. They hand pick the best local and selected handcrafted beer and selected wines to go with our food selection.

The Artic Bath is a year-round destination. In the winter, visitors can experience harmonic cold baths and warm saunas under starry skies. During the summer time, the midnight sun makes swimming possible both in the day day and at night.
